I was raised on a small farm in Arkansas, farming and caring for animals has always been my passion in life. Our 150 acre farm is where I raised two wonderful daughters, who both have graduate degrees. When I am not working as a bookkeeper for the county, or on our farm, you will find me volunteering at Lost Springs Ranch, fishing, or reading. My work with nonprofits began with an abandoned, pregnant short haired retriever name Lady. She gave birth to six frisky puppies that took over our house.
My Mom, who has walked with braces since she was two, with polio, has been my inspiration. She never let her limitations slow her down and attributes her abilities to God and her positive attitude. That's what I love so much about Stable Companions, their story and their mission. They help people and animals with disabilities gain confidence, self reliance, and life skills so they reach their full potential. What better way to achieve this mission than on a horse ranch full of beautiful retired and rescued Arabian horses!!
